Catalan chef Fermí Puig has announced a new solo project which is expected to open next year. The prestigious chef’s business relations with the Drolma restaurant of Hotel Majestic comes to an end, since the establishment will close its doors on the 30th of September, in spite of having been awarded with a Michelin star.
The Majestic group, led by the family Soldevila-Casals, has explained the change in the business: in October, the space currently occupied by the restaurant will accommodate various deluxe suites overlooking Passeig de Gràcia. However, Puig will be linked to the business group will continue until the end of the year as chef of Petit Comitè.
The renowned chef is already absorbed in his new project. Although few details are known about the future restaurant, Fermí Puig has said he wants to leave luxury behind without forgetting the high quality cuisine. "It will have a few tables, more affordable prices and it will open five nights a week," he has explained.
